Maruti Suzuki Soon two new SUVs are going to be launched in the Indian market. Upcoming Maruti SUVs include the 5-Door Jimny and the Fronx. Both these SUVs have reached NEXA dealerships ahead of their launch in the Indian market.
Talking about the launch timeline, the Maruti Jimny 5-Door will be launched by the end of May 2023. And the company will unveil the prices of the Fronx SUV in April. Let us know about the features and engine details of these SUVs…
Maruti Jimny 5-Door
Maruti Suzuki has received over 18 thousand bookings for the new Jimny. Its top model is in high demand. According to reports, the production of the Jimny 5-door could start in April 2023. The lifestyle SUV will come with features like 9.0-inch touchscreen Smartplay Pro Plus infotainment, climate control, Arkamys sound system, keyless start, auto headlamps, LED headlamps with washers, body colored door handles, alloy wheels and cruise control.
The Jinmy 5-Door will get a 1.5 liter K15B petrol engine which will come with mild hybrid technology. This engine will generate power of 105bhp and peak torque of 134Nm. With this, the option of 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will be available.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
This SUV has been designed on the lines of the Baleno hatchback. In terms of features, it gets 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, Arkamys audio system, HUD, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP and hill hold assist. In terms of powertrain, it will come with 1.2L DualJet and 1.0L turbo petrol engines. The first of these will generate 90PS of power and 113Nm of peak torque. With this engine, the option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic gearbox will be available. Whereas the turbo petrol engine will produce 100PS and 148Nm. With this, the option of 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission will be available.
Maruti Fronx has received more than 10,000 bookings so far. Its price can start from Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched in India, it will compete with cars like Tata Punch, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
