Nitin Gadkari informed that as per the information tracked by CERT-In, 2,08,456 cyber security attacks in 2018, 3,94,499 in 2019, 11,58,208 in 2020, 14,02,809 in 2021 and 13,91,457 in 2022 have happened. Responding to a separate question, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that in the current financial year till February, Rs 147 lakh has been distributed as compensation to the victims of hit-and-run cases.

Enhanced compensation is being given to the victims of hit-and-run accidents, Rs 50,000 in case of grievous injury and Rs 2 lakh in case of death.

Responding to another question, Nitin Gadkari said that the ministry has set a higher target of 12,200 km for construction of national highways during the current financial year as compared to the previous three financial years. He said, the target for the construction of NH for the financial year 2023-24 has not been decided yet. Nitin Gadkari informed that there are 19 projects costing Rs 21,864 crore which are delayed due to delay in land acquisition.
